Promises, Promises.

Did Obama's we-must-have-it-or-else trillion dollar "stimulus" plan work? Connect the dots:

01 May 2011

Oh, Happy Day!!

WE GOT HIM!!!! One Shot, One Kill.

Take it away, Lee:

Yes, watch it again.

UPDATE: On FoxNews right now, a large, flag-waving crowd is gathering at the White House in celebration. Shouts of "USA! USA!" and singing "Na Na Na Na, Hey Hey Hey, Good Bye!" can he heard.

UPDATE: Congratulations to the US military, US intelligence services, President Bush, and President Obama.

UPDATE: Good Lord. The tin-foil hat fringe is already talking C-O-N-S-P-I-R-A-C-Y! Just scroll though the posts and pages if you go there. And scrub well after you leave.

UPDATE: FoxNews now showing a crowd gathering in Times Square in New York.

UPDATE: "Three Administrations and a Funeral: The Osama Bin Laden Story". Heeheehee.

UPDATE: John Paul II beatified, Bin Laden killed. An amazing, historic day.

UPDATE 02MAY2011: I hope this is not accurate. In your humble blogger's opinion, his remains should have been cremated, and mixed anonymously into concrete for sidewalks at the new World Trade Center - where the soles of millions of shoes would stomp on him daily.

UPDATE 02MAY2011: ABC News has images from inside Bin Laden's "mansion". Geez. It looks like a college apartment furnished out of a Goodwill Store. All these years and he couldn't hire an interior designer?? IKEA delivers, you know.

"The Consummate Management Consultant".

This is why I wouldn't vote of for Mitt Romney for dog catcher, much less President:
In his opinion, without the Massachusetts plan the federal individual mandate plan wouldn’t have garnered acceptance and gotten through. “It was huge,” Gruber says, to have the Massachusetts plan to point to. And without it, he thinks “it’s likely” ObamaCare wouldn’t have become law.
Having lived there, I can assure you the old axiom is true: A "Massachusetts conservative" is a liberal in the rest of the country.

I Couldn't Agree More.

The American version of Top Gear...

SUCKS!

I hope they put it out of our misery, and soon.

Enough! Enough! Enough!

Another example of "interfaith dialogue", as practiced by the Religion of Peace (tm):
Now, at the end of last month, on the vigil of the feast of All Saints, in the Syriac Catholic Cathedral of our Lady of Deliverance in the city of Baghdad, many dozens of Catholics were killed as they gathered for Mass. Two were priests: one was killed at the altar and the other as he left the confessional. They are joined in death with hundreds of others who have died for their faith in Christ since the current conflict began. An American Dominican Sister, a friend of a friend, has written from that country: “Waves of grief have enveloped their world, surging along the fault lines created in Iraqi society by the displacement of thousands of Iraq’s Christian minority who have fled what is clearly a growing genocidal threat…One survivor was asked by a reporter, what do you say to the terrorists? Through his tears he said, ‘We forgive you.’…Among the victims of this senseless tragedy was a little boy named Adam. Three-year-old Adam witnessed the horror of dozens of deaths, including that of his own parents. He wandered among the corpses and the blood, following the terrorists around and admonishing them, ‘enough, enough, enough.’ According to witnesses, this continued for two hours until Adam was himself murdered.” As bishops, as Americans, we cannot turn from this scene or allow the world to overlook it.
This happened a month ago, yet you've likely never heard about it. The Left / Mainstream Media wasn't too interested. Not surprising, since the victims were Christian. Had the tables been turned - the gunman been Christian and the victims Muslim - it would have been major news; complete with violent protests, UN investigations, and likely some statement from The Episcopal Church (tm) calling of 'understanding' and blaming the Bush Administration.

We in the West may not be at war with a religion, but that religion is at war with us. It is at war with our values, our mores, our ethics - our very understanding of our relationship with the world. It doesn't seek "dialogue", or "diversity", or pluralism. It seeks our subjugation or, failing that, our destruction. I think it's time to recognize that fact. What is being practiced in Baghdad, in Egypt, in Lebanon, in Pakistan, in India, in the Sudan - in large swaths of the UK, for that matter - is a systematic and violent religious and ethnic cleansing in the name of Islam.

Christian values say to wage peace, but they do not require us to commit suicide in order to do it - nor do the values of Western secularism. When are we, the free people of the West, going to stand up for our values? What will it take? When are we going to say, "Enough!"?...

UPDATE: Scratch "seeking mutual-respect" off the list as well.: "In the world, people having different beliefs are separated with walls or wires, even though they are in the same cemetery". Uh, yeah. Thanks for clearing that up.

Nothing For Something.

A little piece of news to keep you awake at night, and think about in the days leading up to the 2 November election: National Debt Up $3 Trillion on Obama's Watch.

That's on the order of a 22% increase in less than two years. For... what? You see any improvement from where we were in 2008? Unemployment has increased (and hasn't decreased as we were promised). Mortgage foreclosures have increased. Health care costs have increased (faster than before). Regulations have increased. And our taxes are about to increase from a whole host of things. Spending our way out of this hasn't worked, so maybe it's time we tried stopping spending instead. We have only one chance to do that in November - and even then it's a slim one, but that's the only one we got.

UPDATE: Oh, wait. My bad. The President says reason the economy is still in the shitter has nothing to do with him or his policies. Oh, no - its because you and me are too stupid, scared, and frustrated to appreciate and be amazed by the brilliance of His actions.

Today's Required Viewing.

Powerline links to an excellent video conversation with Victor Davis Hanson discussing the world stage today and tomorrow, and America's place in it. The video is near 40 minutes long, but as far as brain food goes its well worth the time.

Hanson points out that Mexico is something we should be paying a lot more attention to for reasons other than immigration, and if we don't our next crisis will be a lot closer to home. Like, my home.

Lesson Of 9/11. (UPDATED)

From The New York Post:
Today, America looks back and mourns -- appropriately so.

But America also needs leaders willing to stop pretending that the threat is something other than what it is -- organizationally diffuse, yes, but ideologically united and firmly committed to the destruction of any society that doesn't embrace its nihilistic imperatives.

That's the lesson of 9/11.
Chris Muir nails the other lesson of 9/11.

UPDATE: Cry 'Dhimmi!', and let slip the Episcopal Bishop of Appeasement.

Obama: "We're Moving In The Right Direction."

Unemployment jumps to 9.6%.

If, on the other hand, Obama is acknowledging the mood of this nation and the looming Democrat electoral disaster in November, then yes, Barry is quite correct - we are moving in the 'right' direction. Because, well, America has decided Barry's 'left' direction pretty much sucks.

Beginning The Long March.

What Glenn Beck was really doing in Washington last Saturday:
Beck is creating positive themes of unity and patriotism and freedom and independence which are above mere political or policy choices, but not irrelevant to them. Political and policy choices rest on a foundation of philosophy, culture, self-image, ideals, religion. Change the foundation, and the rest will flow from that. Defeat the enemy on that plane, and any merely tactical defeat will always be reversible.
And The Left / Mainstream Media, while they won't acknowledge it, know very well what is going on here. They are, to say the least, shit-scared. The Ruling Class cannot conceive of the ordinary working Joe or Jane turning to anyone other than them as their one true savior. The success of Beck's rally, and the success of its message, doesn't fit in any of their progressivist, state-centered formulas. Why else are they planning their own rally on the Mall on 2 October, just one month before the election?
