OK, this blog is not a week old and my first "mea culpa". In an
earlier post, I reported that the memo the Washington Post used in a story about food shortages at the US Embassy in Iraq appeared fake. Turns out that thay the US embassy confirmed that a memo was sent, and the text of the memo is accurate. However, the
.pdf originally circulated did seem very suspect, especially with the Lennox China figurine image in the masthead. The embassy also said that while temporary shortages do occur, they are nothing to be alarmed about.
