Those Who Cannot Remember The Past...

...Are doomed to vote Democrat. As we remember the ending of the Civil War at Appomattox, and before The Left / Mainstream Media take a victory lap, we need to remember this fact: One of the worst race riots US history occurred not in the South, but in New York City. In 1863.

I could have missed some, but I'm pretty sure that all of the race riots have occurred in the North, Northeast, or West Coast. (Even Missouri - a border state that divided *itself* during the Civil War,with the St Louis area sending many regiments to join the Union armies) That is because those areas practiced apartheid, using Race Restrictive Covenants in deeds to prevent blacks (and asians) from even renting in certain areas. This produced huge areas in which only black people lived, and did not end until SCOTUS forced them to recognize the Fair Housing act in the 1970s. School Busing was a remedy for the resulting defacto segregation that continued (and the big "separate but equal" cases were in California and Massachusetts). The segregation in the South was actually much less pronounced, and people at least knew each other, whereas in the North... I know a woman in her 40s who was born and raised in Chicago. She was an adult before she ever even *saw* a black person. :-(

That is a horrific article. No wonder that even today, the media is unwilling to discuss or even acknowledge the state of race relations in the North.
