The New Yorker magazine says Stephen Ambrose, the famous historian and author who lived in New Orleans, faked interviews and quotes for his books on Dwight Eisenhower.
Ambrose was one of my favorite instructors the short time I attended University of New Orleans, and I've always enjoyed his books. But now...

How these people can continue to fake stuff and pass it off as real ... in this day and age ... is beyond me. They have to know they'll get caught.
Then again, I make up fake stuff all the time and some people think it's real.
What the hell do I know?
