'Aslan symbolises a Christ-like figure but he also symbolises for me Mohammed, Buddha and all the great spiritual leaders and prophets over the centuries.That last bit just screams "Episcopal Church (tm)", doesn't it?

Sounds to me that Liam hasn't actually read the books... or has any idea who Christ is.
Either that or perhaps I'm the ignorant one and I just haven't heard the stories of how mohammed and buddha shed their own blood and sacrificed their own lives for me. Yeah, maybe that's it.
