As a prefessional member of the artsy-fartsy community - I got a license and everything - I can assure you that it is, indeed, art. When you have elephants making saleable art by waving round paintbrushes, and humans getting art prizes for painting with elephant dung, why wouldn't this be art? If you like what you see, (with the paintings... down, boys. -ed.) our lovely paint-by-300-Winchester-Magnum Georgia O'Keefe is putting some of them up on eBay from time to time.
