A Simple Question.

If you can't buy health insurance across state lines, it isn't 'interstate commerce', now is it? So how can Congress claim to mandate it and regulate it?

Wondering...

I think the first question is why you cannot buy insurance across state lines. This must be some federal level regulation because for the states to do this would seem to be unconstitutional.

They have the power to regulate interstate commerce, including the power to deny it.

The confusion for me is why they would want to stop sale of interstate insurance. I don't understand how that is good for the consumer (citizens). I smell special interests.
