This is one of those epics that, like Lord of the Rings, is almost too big for the big screen; that only your imagination can encompass:
If it wasn't for the fact of where our country is now, and where it is headed under Obama, Atlas Shrugged would, like LOTR, be fantasy. But now it is prophetic. "I Am John Gault!" may well be the theme for Campaign 2012.

The book seemed hopelessly dated as to technology. However, the latest interest in light rail manages to fix most of that. Of course the politics is frighteningly current.
The most inspiring work of fiction ever written. The ONLY novel of IDEAS ever written by an American (nee Russian) woman. Just a shame that we don't have actors great enough to do justice to the book - my choice for Dagny? The Powerhouse herself - Barbara Stanwyck! Hank Reardon - none other than Bill Holden! As for John Galt - there I'm not sure (Gary Cooper is an obvious choice but he was "wooden" in his own words in The Fountainhead).
"From Ocean to Ocean - Forever!"
